Dr Kevin Brosnan discussing OER

Thursday 27th October 2011 7.00pm-8.00pm (UK time)

Dr Kevin Brosnan from the University of Stirling will be our guest expert in the first of our series of TEL-Connect webinars. He'll be discussing issues relating to Open Educational Resources (OER) and exploring some of the implications of consumption-practice and production-practice.

Kevin Brosnan was responsible for overseeing the online postgraduate Technology Enhanced Learning programmes offered by the School of Education. He was also, until recently, project manager for the JISC funded Learning to Learn project – a collaborative project involving DAICE and Lauder, Cumbernauld and Forth Valley colleges. He teaches across a broad range of courses (from Access level to Doctoral students) with a particular interest in e-learning.  Prior to joining the University of Stirling he was a senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University.

In the summer of 2011, Julia Fotheringham went to meet Kevin to discuss with him his ideas about some of the key issues associated with OERs and their development and deployment.

Joining this webinar

The TEL-Connect webinars are open to all.

For Kevin's webinar we invited educators who are participants on a Curriculum Design module on Edinburgh Napier's MSc Blended and Online Education to develop a set of questions around the use and deployment of OERs in order to start framing our conversation with Kevin. We hope that others will join us for what is shaping up to be a lively and informative session.

If you are planning to join the session, click on the link below to enter the Blackboard Collaborate room we will be using. Please arrive about 5 minutes before the session starts in order to make sure that all the audio features of your headset and mic are working well.
