The Student Staff Liaison ‘Forum’ is the recognised opportunity for students and staff to address any teaching, learning and student support matter relevant to a programme. The purpose of the forum is to enable change through student and staff partnership – for example to exchange ideas, suggest improvements, consult on new proposals, address concerns, initiate pilot projects, cascade news and information. A vehicle for two way communication, student input should be representative of the student body. The SSL function is the responsibility of the Programme Leader[1], who has the freedom to deliver this opportunity by the means and format best suited to the programme’s constituency.
SSLCs should not consider matters relating to named members of staff or students, nor are they the place for students to air their personal grievances. Alternative channels of communication are at X.
